2003 Annual Meeting to 2005 Annual Meeting:
Because of personal illness of Deacon John Nguyen, the
NAAPAD president, the
2004 Meeting was cancelled all together.
On June 15th, 2005
the Deacon Committee/American Bishops Committee was held
in Chicago. Deacon Joseph CJ Lee attended the meeting as the president-elect
for NAAPAD. He told the Committee that at the 2005 NAAPAD Annual Meeting he
would start his presidency and promised the normalization of the NAAPAD.
On July 23rd, 2005
Deacon Joseph CJ Lee visited Washington, DC to have a
meeting with the Korean deacons to discuss the separation of NAAPAD from the
Korean Deacons Association. Deacon Joseph CJ Lee asked for their help for
the Sept. 9 - 10, 2005 NAAPAD Annual Meeting. He also told them about the
acceptance of Deacon William Ditewig, Executive Director of the Secretariat for the Diaconate at
the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops, to attend future NAAPAD meetings.
Consequently NAAPAD held an Annual Meeting with Deacon Pascal Hong, the past president's
cooperation.
